Join the Choir

Our choir is committed to rehearsing and performing to a high standard. We value our diversity, our friendliness and sense of community, along with the support and fun we share as we work towards our common goal of bringing joy to ourselves and to our community through song.

We are a non-auditioned choir. Prior choral experience and the ability to read music are helpful, but it is your love of singing and enthusiasm to enjoy the benefits of singing with others, together with your commitment to rehearsals that are key to being a successful Gulf Coast Community Choir member.

If you are interested in learning more about the choir, please submit the contact form. We will be happy to follow up with you.

Sing With Us

Do you love to sing, and do you enjoy serving the community? Then consider joining the choir, where you will find a warm welcome and the opportunity to share the joy of singing while learning a variety of musical styles.

In addition to the health and other benefits of choral singing, rewards include the enthusiastic reception of our audiences – whether at our annual fundraising concert or singing holiday tunes at senior centers or performing at special community events, along with the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships.

Weekly rehearsals usually begin the first Monday after Labor Day and continue Mondays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4150 S. Shade Avenue, Sarasota from September to May. Our annual benefit concert, when we raise funds to be donated to local charities, takes place in May. We are also invited to provide free performances at various community events during the year.

“The choir has always consisted of a diverse group. It is a trademark of this choir. We have retirees and young people who still work. Our members are of different ethnicities, faiths, and political leanings.”

Dr. Carroll Buchanan

Choir Founder

This diverse group has lasted 25 years and is still as enamored and excited today as we were in 2001 at the first concert!

I’m grateful to be a part of GCCC.

It IS a community! I always feel that everyone appears to be there for what we have in common—for the good of the music.”
