The choir, led by its board president Jim Lawrence and director Karen Chester-Amengor, deftly manages cultural expectations for both a secular and gospel repertoire.
But perhaps their most significant contribution is not just the magnificent joyful music they create, but the fact that proceeds from their concerts support local community nonprofits to help offset the disparity of support experienced by so many of our underserved communities.
